21 Dec 2012 | Scotty Newlands Joins All The King's Voices for a Concert at Toronto City Hall

For a second year, Scotty has been asked to lend his vocal talents to join the choral ensemble All The King's Voices that will be performing at Toronto City Hall. It is part of the Christmas Choral Celebration taking place in the Rotunda of Toronto City Hall.
This year's event will be hosted by Citytv's Gord Martineau, and includes performances by All the King's Voices, Toronto Beaches Children's Chorus, and Toronto Mass Choir with accompaniment by Tower Brass and organist James Bourne.
All The King's Voices is a mixed-voice, semi-professional choir that performs a wide variety of music from classical to contemporary. They have performed at Roy Thomson Hall, Glenn Gould Studio, Toronto Centre for the Arts and Black Creek Pioneer Village, and have been featured on CBC Radio, JAZZFM and CityTV. The choir has presented several great classical works with the Mooredale Orchestra and Talisker Players and for the Symphony Orchestra of Canada. They have appeared with such internationally acclaimed singers as soprano Measha Bruggergosman, tenor Ben Heppner and jazz singer Salome Bey. The choir has also performed for the Childrens Wish Foundation, the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation.
There will be a number of well-known selections performed - both secular and non.
The concert is free and begins at 11:30 a.m. in the Rotunda of Toronto City Hall.

| Scotty Newlands performs live on Rogers TV - Toronto Sessions

|
Scotty will be appearing live with his band on Rogers TV - Toronto Sessions. This program showcases some of Toronto’s best up & coming musicians, singers and song writers. All entertainers perform their own original songs on the show! The show is filmed at the Lula Loungs located at 1585 Dundas Street West.
Scotty will be performing selections from Starting Over with his newly formed band. This will be the first time Scotty has performed on TV with a live band and it will be the first time the group has played together - so it marks a double milestone for Scotty's career!

| Scotty Newlands sings the National Anthem at the 65th annual OPEA Gala

Scotty has been asked to sing the national anthem at the 65th annual Ontario Professional Engineers Association Awards gala. This annual event pays respect to the many engineers who have made outstanding contributions in their field as a way of assisting society.
This year, the focus is on Combat Engineers serving in the military and there will be a series of displays and talks by serving personnel. Scotty will open the event by singing the national anthem prior to the dinner.
This is a huge honour and Scotty is very happy to have been asked to lend his vocal talents to the gala.

| Scotty Newlands sings the National Anthem and tribute "These Are Our Heroes" at the first annual Downsview Half Marathon
|

After being a featured vocalist for many high-profile and Remembrance events, Scotty has been asked to sing the National Anthem and his own tribute song "These Are Our Heroes" at the first annual Downsview Half Marathon.
Each November 11th, it's important for Canadians to take time to remember those brave men and women who put country before self and went off to fight in far off lands for the freedom of others. Many of those, paid the ultimate sacrifice and gave their life in battle for the safety and protection of others. As new battles are fought, new veterans are produced. This day is to honour and pay resepct to all those who serve.
As this momentous event, over 1200 runners will be starting their November 11th with a brief Remembrance Day ceremony followed by the Downsview Half Marathon or 5k!

| Scotty Newlands sings the National Anthem for Remembrance Day at the ACC

Continuing with a proud tradition, Scotty has been asked to sing the anthems for the Toronto Raptors as part of their Remembrance service pre-grame. This is by far definitely the most important game of the year to sing at - as it is time to reflect on the brave men and women who served both domestically and overseas. They fought for our freedom and many of them never returned home again. They fought and paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we can be free.
This performance marks the 3rd time Scotty has sung for the Raptors Remembrance Day service. They face off against the Philadelphia 76ers. Tickets can be purchased here.

For the third year in a row, Scotty has been asked to perform selections for a "DIVA NIGHT" in support of Cancer research. He will be singing a selection of pop tunes that topped the charts - spanning the last 50 years!
This marks the 8th year that St Dunstan of Canterbury has done this fund-raiser. Because of their efforts - more money has gone into researching the causes of breast and brain cancer.

After a sucessful performance in March, Scotty has been asked to be the entertainment for the Official Visit of the Supreme Queen for the Daughters of the Nile - Oronto Temple NO. 69.
He will be performing a short selection of crowd favourites for everyone at the ceremonial banquet.
Founded in 1913, Daughters of the Nile is a beautiful Order dedicated to promoting social, friendly fellowship and the advancement and elevation of womanhood. They have a meaningful ritual which was written especially for Daughters of the Nile. They assist the Shriners with their great work of helping the children in the Shrine Hospital system. They are privileged to play our small part in the "World's Greatest Philanthropy" by giving monetary funds each year to the Shine Hospitals.
There are 143 Subordinate Temples throughout Canada and the United States. They are governed by the Supreme Temple of the Daughters of the Nile. There are over 32,000 Ladies of the Household and all are related by birth or marriage to a Shriner/Master Mason/Daughter of the Nile.
The ceremony will take place at the Rameses Shriner's Temple located at 4100 Keele St. in Downsview.

Canada Day will mark a continuing milestone for Scotty's history with the Blue Jays. After performing at the Home Opener in April, Scotty has been asked to once again lead the crowd at the Roger's Centre in the singing of the national anthems.
The Blue Jays take on the Los Angeles Angels as we celebrate our nation's birthday in style.

Scotty will be performing a selection of songs throughout the evening - including his tribute song "These Are Our Heroes".
The fishing derby will take place on July 1st out of the Lake Ontario Port's of Bronte and Port Credit.

Our boys will be putting their skills against their counterparts from Rochester in a match to decide who goes to the finals for the NLL.

The Toronto Blue Jays are back in T.O. and ready for another action-packed season!
As part of the Home Opening ceremonies, Scotty has been asked to perform the National Anthems to kick off the 2012 Baseball season. This is an incredible honour and Scotty is more than happy to be taking part in this event!
The Jays take on the Boston Red Sox in their first game on home turf. This historical game will be broadcast nationwide and will feature Scotty - who has just released his 2nd single to national radio!

Scotty has been asked to take part in a Stag and Doe for his good friends Heather-Ashley Alford and Steve Dolimont. Seeing as they are both musicians and part of a country roots band called "Vintage Railway", they felt it was only fitting to hold the event in a venue where they could play music and invite their musician friends to join them in an acoustic concert.
The venue for this, is The Cameron House at 408 Queen St. W. This place has hosted some incredible musicians and artists over the years and Scotty is thrilled to be taking his place in their long and colourful history.
Scotty will be debuting his latest single "Now That You're Gone" - which hits radio in the next few weeks.
Tickets are $20 at the door. There will be a series of draws and prizes given out - as well as a 50/50.
